the wine of the future

A coworker of mine told me about this place up in the city called VinoVenue that sounded pretty neat, it's a wine bar in the city, and I've been drinking more wine lately, so I'd like to find a place where I can sample some.

Then I start looking through the site description, and I see the greatest thing ever:

"For the first time, guests can serve themselves by purchasing a VinoVenue tasting card (like a debit card), inserting it into the automated wine tasting stations, selecting a wine and receiving a 1 oz. pour. "

Holy crap, it's a cyber-tasting!

Adrienne saw it and immediately said "That's right up your alley", since I'm infamous for hating other human beings and wanting to remove them from the loop in anything I need to get done. People always get in the way, slow things down, or fuck them up. I am the world's largest fan of self-checkout, self-checkin, etc. This just looks perfect, slide a card, get booze.

I'll have to go check this place out this weekend. I'll take lots of pics of me getting made saucy by robots.

Get a moderate-sized card, and share it with someone. That way you go round together, comparing, can finish each other's wine if you don't like a particular one, and balance things better.

Try the port flight at the bar. When I did it, I got 6 glasses instead of three, including white sherry. The bar is actually good — you can get a bottle of anything you like, and some nibbles, though food is pricey.

Also try the more expensive ports in the back — one of them was the nicest thing I have ever swallowed.

It's a fun place to go!

Yeah that technology is great. I was there about a year ago and was too tempted to run from station to station testing it out. I want to do something like that with whiskey.
