movie ban

With the upcoming release of Miami Vice, I'm extending my movie ban.

Currently, my movie ban is:

1) I won't see any superhero movies for at least one year, because I'm fucking sick of them. No Spiderman 3, no Superman, none of it. There's just too many of them. The last good one was Batman Begins.

Now I'm adding:

2) No movies based on old tv shows, either. Nuff said. To get me to the theater I'll need something more original than that.

3) No M. Night Shyamalan movies. I really liked Signs and Sixth Sense and the Village. He's done good stuff. The Lady in the Water was utter and total crap. Spoiler alert. I was angry leaving the theater. There was no twist or cleverness. It was a goddamn children's movie, where they spoon fed you everything. The man done lost his mind. A lady comes out of the water, tells the future, and then gets carried off by an eagle. That's fucking it. Bastard.

Dude, but it's Michael Mann! I hate tv translations as much as the next guy, but Mann's had a really good track record and can do no wrong as far as I'm concerned. Heat? Collateral? The Insider? Nuff said..

I'd be more worried if it was going to be an ironic take on an older show, but the trailers look pretty gritty and real life.

Shyamalan has gone steadily downhill since the sixth sense as far as I'm concerned. I stopped watching his stuff after Signs.
