The most beautiful thing I've ever seen...

Okay, I've just watched the new movie for Half Life 2.

Go to www.gametrailers.com, scroll to the bottom under Vivendi Universal, and get the trailer called "Half Life 2 - Volume 1". I just watched this trailer, and now I'm downloading the 580 megabyte version available from here. It's still got a few hours left to go, but it's TWENTY FIVE MINUTES LONG.

So even if you don't really care for video games, you have to see this. It's like nothing I've ever seen before. The people move and act like real people, the environments feel completely real. You can interact with everything. Throw a grenade under a box, and it will fall off a building and land on people. Running from bad guys? You can run into a building, and drag a table in front of the door, and they'll try to kick the door and not be able to get in. Seriously, my words cannot do this thing justice, it will blow your mind. It's light years beyond any game I've seen up to this point. You can distract enemies, who will behave like actual people, looking in different directions and intelligently reacting to their environment.
