The Elegant Universe

There's a really interesting looking program tonight on PBS called "The Elegant Universe" that I'm going to check out, and I thought I'd recommend it to the rest of you as well. It's a two hour special about string theory, covering what the theory predicts, how it describes elemental particles, etc. A lot of really smart physicists are thinking string theory might help us create a single unified theory, and I don't know anything about it, except that it predicts eleven dimensions and involves everything being made out of "strings", but it doesn't make much sense described that way. Heh.

Anyway, it's on at 8pm on whatever PBS station is in your area.
