National No Call List starting soon

Starting tomorrow, we'll be able to sign up for the national no call list, which is a brilliant idea. Here's a fact sheet:

It bothers me that some people are exempt, like politicians and charities, which is stupid. It's not like you want politicians and charities calling you if you're on a No Call list, but oh well. I also don't like "telephone surveyors" being exempt, because that's too flexible. What if they're "surveying" you about your happiness with your current phone company?

There are some other neat things too. Businesses HAVE to list their numbers in their caller ID. They can't do any more of those "hang up" calls... it's illegal! It's refreshing to see something like this being done, and done right. There had to be some pretty strong lobbying against it.
